The stunning Shivaji heroine Shriya was not seen on any Tamil films after her last venture “Chikku Bukku”. It is said that the heroine was very angry at the way her role was portrayed in the film. Her character was suppressed by Preethika Rao’s character in the movie. Since then she hasn’t acted in any other Tamil film so far. When Shriya was asked about this she simply refused to give any comments about the matter for a very long time. So will she never come back to Kollywood?
Shriya strongly denies any such anger. “I had some misconceptions in the beginning. But everything is solved now. I don’t have any grudge against Preethika or the director”. Is Shriya the heroine of Kamal’s next project Viswaroopam? “Yes” she says proudly “It’s a trilingual movie which will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The team wanted a face familiar in all the three languages. So they chose me.” Viswaroopam was originally set to be directed by Selvaraghavan. But now it is said that Kamal himself will direct the movie. Shriya and Sonakshi Sinha are the heroines of the movie.
Apart from this mega project, Shriya is acting in the movie “Rowthiram” with Jeeva. The team went to Switzerland for the movies shooting recently. “Rowthiram shooting was delayed due to various reasons. But the movie will hit the screen quickly, putting an end to all the rumors” hopes Shriya. This sizzling star is busy at the moment with Deepa Mehta’s English Film “Winds of Change” and a mega budget Malayalam film “Casanova” co starring with Mohanlal.
Along with this, she is acting in some Telugu films as well. Her career has been in a steady rise since the beginning of this year. Known for her various entrepreneurship ventures, Shriya is even invited to give speeches in B-schools. “Being in the right place at the right time matters a lot to be successful” is her message for her students. Hope she comes back with a grand success in both her new ventures “Rowthiram” and “Viswaroopam”. After all she is a perfect mix of glamour, brains and talent, a rare genre to find in Kollywood heroines.
