Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar was last seen in Poda Podi movie with actor Simbu in the lead role, which was also her debut flick.. The movie did not receive critical acclaim or fan following as expected and the actress is yet to give another release in Tamil cinema industry after her debut flick. However, the latest buzz regarding the actress is that she is in the race to star in the female lead role in a movie, which would be the next directorial effort of acclaimed director Bala.
The yet to be titled movie’s pre production works are going on and director Bala is busy with the casting works. He has already roped in actor-director Sasikumar to play the lead role, while he is still hunting for a female compatriot. The sources close to the movie unit confirm that the director is all set to cast actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, since she is the last one who gave an audition for the role. However, an official word is yet to be told to the media. Varalaxmi, however, confirms that she has attended a test shoot for the movie.
The Poda Podi actress says that director Bala always expects his actors to sink in to the roles perfectly. She adds that she has given her audition in a confident way, but still she is waiting for the result. She also reveals that actresses Shriya and Shravanthi have also attended the test shoots but still the director is yet to decide on the casting.
For your information, Varalaxmi was already considered for director Bala’s Avan Ivan but she could not star in the movie due to various reasons. The sources close to the director, however, say that she would be most probably confirmed for the role. The reason is that the movie is all about Tamil folk dancers and Varalaxmi is a trained dancer. We have to wait and see who gets the opportunity.
