Mumbai based Tamannaah is just 20 (born on December 21, 1989). Her first two films in Tamil ‘Kedi’ and ‘Vyaparai’ did not do well at the box office. So, she changed her name from Tamanna to ‘Tamannaah’ as suggested by noted numerologist Niraj Manchanda. After changing her name, her life changed in a big way as she went on to bag some meaty roles. The small budget Telugu film ‘Happy Days’ turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters in Andhra Pradesh. Though ‘Kalloori’ did average business at the box-office, she was appreciated by the audience for the simple yet realistic portrayal of her role. The moderate hit of ‘Padikkathavan’ sky rocketed her remuneration to 60 Lakhs per film (she is demanding Rs.10, 500/- per day separately as remuneration for her Make-up man, Hair Dresser, Touch-up boy) and she has been stamped as ‘successful/lucky heroine’ in Kollywood. The recent release ‘Ayan’, which is expected to break the collection record of ‘Sivaji - The Boss’, has upsurged her image further. Her current projects are ‘Raja Rani’ and ‘Paiyaa’ in Tamil and ‘Koncham Ishtam Koncham Kashtam’ in Telugu.

Recently Tamannaah has declined to accept Vishal's big budget action romantic flick ‘Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai’. The film is produced by Kanagarathna Movies Ramesh, debutant Thiru is directing the movie, Yuvan Shankar Raja is in charge of the music while Aravind Krishna is the cinematographer. The film has three heroines. Already Trisha, Nayanthara, Bipasha Basu have rejected the offer of Vishal. Tamannaah said that she is not interested to act with two other heroines and if the offer is for a single heroine subject she would have accepted it.
