Ajith "Aagen" is making history when producing. This movie is Raju Sundram first direction venture which earlier named as "Akbar' and later it was changed as "Aagen". Starting of this project Shriya was agreed as heroine and later she lost the chance because of her single dance with comedian Vadivelu.


After Shriya, Bollywood glamour storm Katrina Kaif appointed as heroine after a long compromise, but she was later denied, as she has been busy with other Hindi movies. Now, Nayanthara finalized as heroine for this movie. Nayanthara already paired with Ajith in Billa 2007.
