It seems like a bad time for Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who was setting the Kollywood town abuzz by signing projects helmed by big directors of South. Earlier there were reports that she had bagged a coveted role in Mani Ratnam’s next project, Kadal. Then, the there was a twist and she opted out of the movie citing date issues. Her signing in on the Shankar’s next project, titled, followed this news. Now, it seems as if she has opted out too due to some illness issues.

When the media tried to contact her, a spokesperson from her side was available for a comment. The spokesperson confirmed the news that Samantha has opted out of Shankar’s film starring Vikram in the lead role. The spokesperson also added that playing the female lead role in ‘I’ required Samantha to sport two different looks in the movie. This meant that she had to allocate bulk dates for the movie. He further stated that even though she was ready to play the role, her previous commitments in Telugu movies did not allow her to sign on the dotted lines for ‘I’.
