The movie, Pongadi Neengalum UngaKaadhalum, is a directorial debut of the lead actor of the movie Kunguma PoovumKonjum Puravam, Ramakrishnan.
The first half of the film looks like two strips of information which are hard to converse, it is only the second half which reveals the relation and makes the movie more interesting. The film revolves around the new generation, and how both men and women equally misuse trust nowadays. The movie works as an entertainer and makes you think quite a lot about the fake promises, which might not be taking any one to any place at the end.
To get into the plot, the first half shows the daughter of the police commissioner, a young girl, who is brutally raped by her boyfriends and captured in a video. In her shock, the girl commits suicide, and the hunt of his father to catch the criminals begins. The commissioner started with a “no evidence at hand” point, and slowly made his progress through his deliberate attempts and failures. On the other side, the film portrays, Ramakrishnan, a small time thief, and Athmiya, who belongs from an affluent background and is a college student. Athimiya tries to woo Ramakrishnan, in every way possible, not because she actually loves him but because she has some ulterior motives, which is not disclosed to the viewers’ till the second half of the movie. The second half, which is more interesting and first moving than the first, connects these two strips of plots together, reveals the secrets to the audience, and finally leads to an interesting end.
The movie has some truly enjoyable comedy scenes with funny dialogues and can be marked as a light-hearted entertainer. Though the film has not received great reviews from the critics, but it can serve fairly well as a onetime watch.
