After so many speculations, it is officially out now. The news is that Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru, which was to be made with actor Vijay after his Thuppaakki, has been shelved now. For a week, the industry insiders have been saying that Gautham Vasudev Menon will not do Yohan with actor Vijay. However, now the director Gautham Menon himself has stated that Yohan is shelved for an infinite period of time. It, however, seems as if the director is preparing a new script for Illayathalapathy Vijay!
Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru was supposed to a stylish spy thriller equaling the ranks of James Bond spy thriller series. The production house and the director Gautham Vasudev Menon were sure that there would be many editions of the movie, just like the Bond series. Even the pre production works for the movie went at a brisk pace a few months back. The first posters of the movie were made public and music maestro A R Rahman was also roped in by Gautham Menon to take care of the music for the movie.
According to a well informed source, it now seems as if both Gautham Menon and actor Vijay are unhappy with the script for the movie. Although the one-liner for the movie sounded promising, the script did not come up well it seems. Hence, the director seems to have decided to shelve the entire project for an infinite period of time.
The story does not stop with this. It seems director Gautham Menon might come up with a new script for actor Vijay. He tweeted that he is busy with his current project, Neethane En Ponvasantham with Jiiva in the lead, and actor Vijay is busy with Thuppaakki, helmed by director A R Murugadoss. He also added that Vijay’s next film would be with director A L Vijay, and hence, Yohan would not happen now. Although the director did not reveal any details about the new script, the source says that, once Vijay returns from New Zealand after shooting for Thuppaakki, Gautham would narrate his new script to the actor!
