Here is earlier news about Thalaivaa release issue.
As we all already know, Thalaivaa is the latest movie that stars actor Vijay in the lead role and directed by director A L A Vijay. The movie was all set for a release on Ramzan, which falls on 9th of August. However, the movie has fallen into troubled waters as theater owners in Tamil Nadu hesitate to screen the movie, while Tamil cinema watchers all around the globe can watch the movie, as the world wide release was made as scheduled. The movie has been released in other states like Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh too as scheduled.
The sources reveal that some prominent theater owners in Tamil Nadu have received bomb threats from unknown people. It seems as if the anonymous group of people has threatened the theater owners that if they screen the Thalaivaa movie there would be bomb blasts in theaters. Due to this unexpected threat calls, the theater owners throughout the state have decided to stop screening Thalaivaa for an undisclosed time period. The fans of Ilayathalapathy are quite furious as they started booking their tickets for the movie a week ago. The theater owners say that they have stopped further bookings of tickets for Thalaivaa since Wednesday as they continue to get threat calls.
The filmmakers and all others associated with Thalaivaa, including actor Vijay, went and met the government officials to do something in favor of release of the movie. It seems as if they have asked for police protection for all the theaters across Tamil Nadu where the movie will be released. However, the government has declined to make a move since such a large scale deployment of police protection is not possible due to logistics issues.
For your information, Ilayathalapathy himself had already clarified that Thalaivaa is a not a political movie but is a family entertainer. Tamil cinema followers would now remember Kamal Hassan’s Vishwaroopam, which met with the same fate for various other reasons!
