Director Sargunam, who directed the typical Kalavaani and the notable Vaagai Sooda Vaa, is all set to direct the National Award winning actor Dhanush in his next movie. The movie, as of now, is called Sottaivazhakutti, which is a typical village term, commonly used in southern Tamil Nadu villages. The title means a young man who is naughty and witty and active in nature. This movie, just like Sargunam’s debut flick Kalavaani, is going to be a typical village romantic comedy. However, the latest buzz waving in the Kollywood industry is that, the director Sargunam has roped in Amala Paul to pair up with Dhanush in Sottaivazhakutti.
Yes! This means that Tamil cinema fans are going to witness yet another new onscreen pair this year. According to the sources close to the movie unit, it seems the director Sargunam had approached Amala Paul first to do the role opposite Dhanush. When he narrated the script and the female lead’s role in the movie, it seems as if Amala Paul was pretty much impressed with the script and role. She agreed to do the role as soon as she finished listening to the director’s narration.
Sargunam, according to the sources, is planning to start the shooting of the movie from September, as both Dhanush and Amala Paul are busy with their current commitments. It seems as if, Kathiresan from Group Company, who also produced the movies like Aadukalam and Pollathavan, is producing this movie too. The locations for the shooting are planned in Hosur, Nagercoil and Dindigul.
With Dhanush already marking a brand for him in Indian cinema and the fan base of Amala Paul getting increased day by day as all of her previous flicks in Tamil and Telugu industry proving to be hits in the box office, Sottaivazhakutti is surely going to create a great interest among the Tamil cinema audiences.
