Director Suseenthiran, who shot to fame with his movies like Vennilla Kabbadi Kuzhu and Azhagar Samyin Kuthirai, has come up with his latest offering to Tamil cinema Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer. The movie is thought to be the comeback movie of the Naan Mahan Alla director, whose previous outing, Raajapaatai, fizzled out in the box office with too many negative comments from the critics. The director has once again proved his mettle with Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer, which runs short but makes an immediate impact among the audiences.
Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer is about the teenage lives of Karthi (Santhosh Ramesh) and Shwetha (Manisha Yadav). The movie tells us how both Karthi and Shwetha get together and fall in love with each other. Interestingly, the movie also tells what happens to the friends and family of both the characters once they fall in love. The movie also captures what problems that Karthi and Shwetha face in love and tells us how they deal with all the troubles. The beauty of Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer is that the movie moves quite naturally without showing the characters in an artificial sense.
Director Suseenthiran keeps the movie short, which runs just over an hour and half, but the characters make an impact, indeed. The lead characters have been written very nicely that you do not find anything the does not make sense to you. The characters in the college, in addition to the lead characters, bring the setting lively and add reality to the proceedings. Even the family characters of the lead roles are portrayed effectively to the director.
Director Suseenthiran succeeds in combining the traditional elements of the Tamil cinema with modern trends of the reality of teenage lives successfully. However, the melodramatic climax seems to go overboard, which might not work for a few audiences.
Overall, Aadhalal Kadhal Seiveer is a movie that will not let you feel regretful after watching it. Go watch it this weekend!
