Neerparavai is the latest flick to hit screens in Tamil cinema, and it is an offering from director Seenu Ramasamy. When a National Award winning director comes up with a new flick, there often is an expectation from the world of critics and cinema lovers, and when a successful joins the project, the expectation only gets bigger. That has exactly happened with Neerparavai, as Udhayanidhi Stalin has produced this National Award winning director’s latest flick featuring actors Vishnu and Sunaina in the lead roles. Neerparavai is an emotional drama, which is set in a coastal background with perfect mix of mystery in the plot.

Esther’s (Nandita Das) husband Arulappasamy (Vishnu) is missing for the past 25 years after he went to sea for fishing. However, now a skeleton is found in front of her home and it invites a police inquiry involving Esther. A cop called Agnes (Varsha) begins enquiring Esther and follows the flashback that happened twenty five years ago. The flashback involves Esther’s life and love with Arulappasamy and the mystery and unrest that ruined their lives and their families. What happens in flashback and what the cop Agnes finds out?

Now, in Neerparavai the movie content has a strong connection with the sea and coastal region and the lives of people living there. The major success of this movie is that, Seen Ramasamy is able to recreate the lives of people and the essence of coastal life perfectly on screen with reality.
